native, she began competing in diving at the age of 7 and had her
first national competition at the age of 9. At Radnor High, she
earned All-Central League honors in field hockey and was state champion
and Junior Olympics champion in diving. She also competed in diving
at Penn State University. 1992: At 29, she was the oldest member
of the United States swimming and diving team, which competed in
the Summer Olympic Games at Barcelona, Spain. She earned a bronze
medal in 10-meter platform diving. 1996: After overcoming illness
and injuries, she was the top qualifier in the 10-meter platform
diving for the American team at the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta,
Georgia. At age 33, she became the oldest Olympic diving medalist
by earning a bronze medal.
